System Fucker are another of the new generation of Japanese D-beat/crust/raw punk bands making a shit ton of racket these days. After an impressive demo, the band follows up their brand of Shitlickers worship with this excellent debut 7". Like many of its peers, the band takes the blueprint of bands like Disclose and makes it even noisier. As a matter of fact, much of the criticism I've heard towards this release deals with how harsh the recording is, saying that it's all but indiscernible. While it's very noisy and with raw sound quality, that's kinda the point and I don't personally feel like it's unlistenable. As a matter of fact, I can totally tell what's going on and I love it!
These five songs blast by one after another with nothing but buzzing guitar, heavy bass, chaotic drumming, and uncontrollable vocals, only taking breaks for weird laughter and chit-chat, all before the cacophony ensues once more. Finally, the singer declares "Warsystem!" and breezes through their mandatory Shitlickers cover. The record ends on a false start to a new song presumably from the same session, meaning there might even be more of this stuff sitting around somewhere. In the end, though, whether the band chooses to release this or purely new material, I'll be content.
