Katorga Works New Katorga Works Release: Hounds Of Hate - No Redemption 7" + New Website + HYS01 (Boom Boom Kid 7")

Artist: Hounds Of Hate
Album: No Redemption 7"
Release: 2011
Label: Katorga Works

Tracklist:

1. Intro/No Redemption
2. Blood From A Stone
3. Cast Out
4. The Evil That Men Do
5. Born Alone

Greetings! Colman and I have released yet another record! Here is the stock description of it:

"We are proud to announce the Katorga Works release of the debut 7" of Braddock, PA/Brooklyn, NY's Hounds of Hate. Featuring current and former members of CREEM, Natural Law, and Pissed Jeans, Hounds of Hate plays unrepentantly straight edge hardcore in the vein of late 80s NYHC, particularly that of Sick of It All and Warzone with a production striving for a sound akin to the Free For All comp. Forget their demo, No Redemption marks a turning point for the band. Unbeatable."

Truth be told, this is a special release for us, not only because we really dig the music, but because the band features two original members of the blog and good friends of ours, Trey and Flynn.

We at Katorga Works also have a large distro update, featuring (mostly) new records from: Altars, Bastard, Belgrado, Boom Boom Kid, Crazy Spirit, the Creamers, the Kotaro comp 7" (Nomad, Cervix, Bloodkrow Butcher, Earthpig), Nerveskade, Noothgrush, Zatsuon, and many more!

Distros and stores, please email us to discuss wholesale. Let it be known, there are only a little over 100 copies of the record left, so act fast.

Hounds of Hate is also embarking on a tour in late November, early December. Here are the dates:

11/26 Cleveland, OH @ Tower 2012 w/ Heartless, Full of Hell, Plague Mother, Homewrecker, Grin and Bear It
11/27 Pittsburgh, PA @ The Mr. Roboto Project w/ Heartless, Full of Hell, Confidence Men, Old Accusers
11/28 DAY OFF
11/29 Richmond, VA @ Strange Matter w/ Brown Sugar, + more
11/30 Washington, DC @ Asefu's w/ Sick Fix, Brown Sugar, +1 TBA

We'd also like to announce that after more than a year of existence, we finally broke down and made a website for ourselves. It can be found at the simple URL of http://katorgaworks.com. We figure this will be the easiest way for you to find out the latest news from the label, to get into contact with us, to see our physical discography, to download our releases for free, and to see which distros and stores might be carrying records from us.

In related news, our roommates have started their own label (can two labels coexist in the same apartment???) called Hysteria record, focusing (non-exclusively) on South American releases. Their first release is the Boom Boom Kid 7". Here is a description for the record, which is a real banger:

Artist: Boom Boom Kid
Album: Self Titled 7"
Release: 2011
Label: Hysteria

Tracklist:

1. Del Absoluto Vacio Surge Este Capricho
2. Y El Hospice..
3. Mirandome Al Espejo
4. 24 hs
5. En BSAS

"Latest release from legendary Argentine punk figure BOOM BOOM KID. You can hear his previous band FUN PEOPLE's hardcore punk influence tinged with a power-pop sensibility. Vocals ranging from growls to wails weave through surf punk guitars, punching through frenzied melodies that stick in your head."

This release is coming out in support for his unmissable US tour, those who have seen his unapologetically fun and frenetic shows already know what to expect. Most of the tour is already over, but here are the remaining shows:

11/15 - Davis, CA @ Bike Forth
11/16 - Reno, NV @ TBA
11/17 - San Francisco, CA @ Thrillhouse Records
11/18 - Watsonville, CA @ Youth Center
11/19 - Monterrey, CA @ American Burger
11/20 - Berkeley, CA @ 924 Gilman"

This is a great debut record from a label with great potential and you can also download it for free from their webstore. We are going to have a few copies of it, but you should order it from their webstore. If you would like to order copies at wholesale or potentially trade, you can email Lauren and Santi at hysteriarecords@gmail.com.

WNYU Radio + Blog Reboot

Hey everyone! Writing here to let you know that the blog will be posting new music in about month. We're all hard at work writing reviews for a lot of (to us) cool music. We want to get a lot of these done before we start posting, so that way there is a lot going on on the site for awhile. Sorry we've been lame and absent. Life sucks lol.

Also, Colman and Adam will be guest DJing on WNYU's New Afternoon show this Thursday the 10th of November, where they will play a bunch of new music (they won't let them play old music) that hopefully you will find cool. The show is from 4:30-7:00 pm and can be streamed from wnyu.org. A quick warning: we aren't actually showing up until 5:00pm, but you should still listen for the first thirty minutes. Again, this is on November 10, 2011.

Thanks!
