Altered Boys is the first New Jersey hardcore band I've been stoked on in awhile. They play a brand of hardcore that's heavily-inspired by fast, early 2000s NJ hardcore, but is surprisingly contemporary and far more tasteful than a band influenced by early 2000s hardcore should be. I don't know, it doesn't really sound like anything else I know of happening in New York's second shittiest neighbor (sorry, Connecticut). The band rips through five songs at a furiously fat pace and is over before you know it. Both relevant and irrelevant: did you know one of the members is a straight edge wrestler? Now you do!
