Label: Toxic State/Nomad Self-Released
9. 政治の瞳 / 苦しみ
NYC's Nomad has developed their brand of noisy d-beat fairly consistently with each subsequent release, so when I heard they were doing a 12" after their 2nd 7" and contribution to the Ground Zero comp, I was of course excited. Still, nothing could have prepared me for the beyond-exponential growth of this record. Sporting their finest recording yet courtesy of Heaven Street, the band has taken it's songwriting to a whole new level. You've never heard Nomad like this. Perfectly executed d-beat sung in Japanese is pushed over the edge with crazed guitar effects. One of my favorite additions to their sound on this record is the doubled vocal effects that instantly recall Realities Of War. With the proper recording doing their sound justice, this release stands as their most definitive.
Exciting things are brewing with with this band and this is the start of truly great things to come with them and, with the demise of Perdition, Nomad has dropped this hardcore punk masterpiece at a very necessary time for NYC, as well as punk, in general.
